My photo
I am a student who struggles to accept that maybe all those fairy tales and fantasy books that I have read, that I am reading, and that I will ever read, do not always reflect reality. Thus, this will be a blog about personal musings on books, fashion, and falling in love too easily with fictional characters.

New Buys and Loves

Darling it's been awhile!

And in that while I have been a semi-busy girl. What with exams and papers due I barely had the time to pamper myself! But fear not, today instead of studying I said "Damn this I'm going shopping!" ;D

I picked up a cute new Italian Cashmere scarf for the cooling weather, moisturizer, cleanser, a hand full of other toiletries, a lovely new nail polish, blush, and hairspray.

Of that lot my faves will be pictured below:
The hairspray is L'oréal Elnett Satin in "extra-strong hold", a product I'm very excited to try since I have heard/read amazing reviews on it.

The nail-polish is Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in "Steel Grey" (though the colour is more on the taupe side), I love this line of polishes. They are affordable, the varnish lasts a long time (7-10 days w/o re-application), the colours are vibrant, and they have a glossy, creme finish to them. The trend for matte grey nails has been going on for quite a while now and I'm so late jumping on the bandwagon mainly because I never found a matte grey nail-polish at any drugstore I looked in. Well today I found 3! The one I purchased, a Revlon one, and a Sally Hansen one called "Commander in Chic." All three where within 1-2 shades/colour tones of each other so I ended up choosing based on price: the Rimmel was the most inexpensive of the three. Besides I already know the quality, so I made a good choice.
The blush is from M.A.C.'s "Venomous Villains" Collection. The villain depicted is the Evil Queen from Snow White and the blush is called "Bite of an Apple." It is a beautiful, matte pinky-red. When I wear the blush it really gives a warm texture to my cheeks. This blush is my first ever special collection purchase from M.A.C.  and I may go back at some point and spend some more time playing with the other products. From my first look and impression, "Bite of an Apple" was the only item to really catch my eye and make me crave it. The rest of the collection, colour-wise, was rather average.

Lastly, my cute scarf; bright enough to be cheerful in dreary rainy weather, but neutral enough to go with everything.

I would love to go clothes shopping soon, just to do the rounds at my favourite boutiques around the city. Maybe tomorrow after lunch with Dad? I'll keep you posted!

kissy-kissy,

The Beautiful Banner

The absolutely lovely banner that you see above was created by the multi-talented Tess of:

http://tesskidston.blogspot.com/

Thank you so much hun!! Love you and love the banner! Also, any changes to the banner, or perhaps a new one entirely, will also have been created by Tess. We are currently trying out different ideas while I'm trying to re-design my blog. She is a creative genius, so all bow down to her! I suppose I should start learning how to write/edit html, woohoo *sarcasm*.

It's a process!

My fashion finds and loves to be coming soon =^_^=

Stay classy,
Oana

P.S. I have contacted the authorities in Paraguay and they have told me that my camera and connection cable have skipped town. But never fear! My sources have informed me that they have hidden themselves somewhere on Dårlig Ulv Stranden.

Follow-up: 3 months later!

Since I have abandoned this blog for far too long I shall start it up again. All it needs a little grooming and some pics and it'll ready and set! All I need is to find my bloody camera and the connector cable. I swear it just got up and moved to paraguay! Without even so much as writing me a note!!!! Cheeky, irresponsible camara!

Love,
Oana

First Post........here goes nothing!

Dear Rikki,

I have decided to start a blog on the advise of Martha, she said that such a hobby would be therapeutic. We shall see since I am terrible at keeping any sort of journal or writing with any sort of flare. Hopefully though, keeping a blog will help to improve something about myself even if it only helps to lower my stress about Uni.

I should mention that I do not know if every blog post will be written in letter form to you. I started like this because any other way felt silly and awkward for me; just need practise writing in a "journal" I guess.

This blog will be mostly about fashion I like (yes, it's one of those blogs) and other topics I will be currently interested in. I will treat this blog as an exercise in obtaining a hobby. ^_^

I hope you are well and that your exams go smoothly, remember: only 156 days till christmas and till you are here!

Much love,
Oana

P.s. Here is a quick snap of a darling summer hat I found at my local ASPCA Thrift Store! To bad that there are no Ascot races around here.
